Luton Airport Jokes About Plane Crash Empty Luton Airport Jokes About Plane Crash

Luton Airport has apologised after a photo of a plane crash, in which a child died, was posted on its Facebook with a light-hearted comment about safety records. The Daily Mail reported: "‘Because we are such a super airport....this is what we prevent you from when it snows......Weeeee Smile,’ the Facebook status accompanying the photo read."

The tragedy occurred in 2005 in Chicago, when a Boeing 747 slid off the runway due to heavy snow and crashed into a car in which six-year-old Joshua Woods was travelling in.

Outraged Facebook users described it as "appalling". A spokesman for Luton Airport said: ‘London Luton Airport apologises unreservedly for the post on Facebook, which was wholly unacceptable and insensitive.

If you walk into the airport and make a passing comment about plane crashes, you would expect to get rugby tackled to the floor by airport security or plainclothes Police, yet I suppose if you look at the demographic make up of Luton, they must hear that kind of thing every day.
